Friday Night Links
November 27th, 2009 | by Kevin Hanson |Linebacker Terrell Suggs is listed on the injury report as “doubtful” and he is expected to be a game-time decision. Earlier in the week, Suggs said that he’d like to play if he could “miraculously heal.” And coach John Harbaugh said, “If he’s ready to play Sunday, he’ll be out there playing.”

Offensive coordinator Cam Cameron said of getting more receivers involved: “That’s what we always want to do. We’ve got to get back to doing that like we did earlier in the year, as early as a month ago. We’ll do everything we can do to do that. It’s easier said than done. Defenses can force yo to push things a certain way.” Derrick Mason and Ray Rice have received 33 of the past 53 targets from QB Joe Flacco.
The Ravens are going to distribute “rally towels” for Sunday night’s game. I’m not sure the Ravens would want to copy something that Pittsburgh does. My view is more along the lines of Derrick Mason’s view: “The fans just need to make a lot of noise.”
According to Jason La Canfora of NFL Network, Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger may miss Sunday’s game against the Ravens even though he practiced throughout the week and that a decision should be made Saturday morning. I can’t see Roethlisberger sitting out a game as important as this one and leaving the game in the hands of back-up Dennis Dixon.
John Eisenberg of BaltimoreRavens.com doesn’t think that the NFL has it out for the Ravens by arguing that they are a model franchise.
Finishing games has been a problem for the Ravens, however, as Ray Lewis says, “Now, you start a new season – a six-game season. And the bottom line is if you can get that to turn a little bit, where we do start winning those close games, then everything we’re talking about now is a myth and we keep on moving on.”
Left tackle Jared Gaither has held Steelers LB James Harrison to no sacks in their past two meetings after allowing Harrison to record 2 1/2 sacks in their first game last year.
CB Lardarius Webb is confident: “This week is going to tell who’s going to be out there and help this team win this game. No nervousness. I love this game, I love to play football. I’m just going to go out and have fun.”
