Ravens head coach John Harbaugh insists that the injury that has caused linebacker Terrell Suggs to miss the final 20 days of training camp is “nothing serious,” per Jamison Hensley of The Baltimore Sun.  Harbaugh said, “As far as what we’ve been told, there’s nothing serious in there. It’s a nagging thing.”

95,000 fans showed up to this year’s Ravens’ training camp, which is a record for a camp without an intrasquad scrimmage.

In today’s practice (the last open to the public), All-World safety Ed Reed intercepted rookie running back Cedric Peerman as he ran the scout team’s wildcat offense.

AFC North blogger James Walker (ESPN) takes a look at some key questions facing the Ravens in his Camp Confidential column.

In a look at camp roommates by Mike Duffy of BaltimoreRavens.com, fullback Le’Ron McClain says of tailback Ray Rice: “We argue a lot just to get us through the day,” McClain says. “We argue about every little thing – who has their lights on, who’s going to sleep too early. I’m the older brother; he’s the little brother.”  McClain goes on to say that “I love blocking for him.  He’s a great back. I’m going to do everything I can do get him over 1,000 yards. If that means blocking every play, that’s what I’m going to do. The sky’s the limit for him.”

As far as the other RB – Willis McGahee, here’s what he told Duffy about a previous comment that he said was taken out of context: “Well, the guy asked me if I would play for the Jets. Then I was like, ‘Yeah, I’d love to play for Rex.’ I guess they blew it all out of proportion. I never said I was going to the Jets or I wanted to play for them. He just asked me if I would ever play for Rex with the Jets and I said, ‘Yeah, I would love to,’ just because I know him and the type of person he is.”

Calling Monday’s game against the Ravens an “attitude game,” Jets coach Rex Ryan says, “It’s going to be great because Baltimore is a physical team. That’s what we want to be. We want to be that tough, physical team that won’t back down from anybody . . . It’s a double-chinstrap game.”

With what may be the league’s youngest offensive tackle duo (LT Jared Gaither and RT Michael Oher), the Ravens have the opportunity to mold both into elite tackles to protect Joe Flacco for a long time.
