Monday Night Links

June 29th, 2009 | by Kevin Hanson |

Filling in for the vacationing Peter King, recently retired QB Trent Green wrote SI’s Monday Morning QB column.  In it, Green wrote that Joe Flacco won’t experience a sophomore slump saying he is surrounded by good players and coaches and has the “right moxie.”

Green also predicted ten QBs will pass for 4,000+ yards in 2009.  However, Joe Flacco wasn’t on his list.  And Mike Duffy of BaltimoreRavens.com states the obvious (the Ravens don’t need Flacco to pass for 4,000 yards) in his column today despite naming some factors that should lead to an improvement over his 2,971yards in 2008.

Coach John Harbaugh is heading to the Middle East today along with four other coaches – Tom Coughlin (Giants), Jeff Fisher (Titans) and former coaches Bill Cowher and Jon Gruden.

Ravens RB Ray Rice now has a new agent.  Todd France, who also represents Le’Ron McClain, will also represent Rice, according to Pro Football Talk.

GM Ozzie Newsome will one day “come home” to Alabama.  Let’s hope that “one day” is in the distant future.
