June 19th, 2009 | by Kevin Hanson |The Ravens signed rookie Jason Phillips, a fifth-round pick out of TCU, to a three-year contract worth $1.34 million. Phillips, who is recovering from a torn lateral meniscus, says he expects to be ready for training camp.
Yesterday the Ravens signed LB Tony Fein, who will compete to back up Ray Lewis and Tavares Gooden, and waived undrafted QB Drew Willy as well as LB/DE Luis Vasquez. They also released CBs Anwar Phillips and David Jones yesterday.
Three of the team’s drafted rookies remain unsigned: first-round OT Michael Oher, second-round OLB/DE Paul Kruger and third-round CB Lardarius Webb.

Trevor Pryce might be a 13-year vet who will turn 34 on August 3rd, but he’s still in great shape and “runs basketball gassers with weight packs on his back,” according to coach John Harbaugh.
Detroit Lions rookie Louis Delmas said: “I’d have to say my favorite player growing up is ultimately Ed Reed. He’s a beast. He’s a ball hawk. He’s a great sideline-to-sideline player and, most of all, he’s very smart. He makes plays in the backfield that linebackers can’t make. But that’s all through film study and all through being consistent. I’d like to get to that level one day.”
