Harbaugh looking for a “man of integrity”

Denver Broncos receiver Brandon Marshall, who was a no-show at the team’s mini-camp last weekend, wrote in a blog post on his official website, BMarshall15.com, that:
“To whom it may concern. Life is filled with change, and where I am in my life now change is probably best. It’s hard leaving an organization ran by one of the best owners in all of sports, and someone who’s been there for me through my ups and downs. The hardest thing was hearing Mr. B wish me luck in the future, but we both came to the conclusion that this is probably the best thing for me to grow on and off the field.”
If the Broncos were to agree to Marshall’s trade requests, the Ravens are a team rumored to be interested.
Yesterday, Ravens coach John Harbaugh spoke on the topic, sort-of.
“We’re interested in anybody that can help our team,” Harbaugh said Tuesday at a rookie minicamp, per Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times. “He plays for the Broncos and he’s under contract. So, he’s not a guy that we’re considering or concerned with right now. We’ll just have to see what happens.”
Harbaugh went on to say that: “Their background matters. Any player we bring in is going to be a man of integrity and will be someone who is going to be respected in the locker room. We’re never going to compromise on that.”
If a “man of integrity” really is a requirement, the Marshall-to-Baltimore rumors should end.
In fact, Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk now writes that he’s hearing a new rumor of Marshall to Cleveland in a trade involving returner Josh Cribbs. Yet, in the end, he speculates that could lead to Braylon Edwards being moved – possibly, to Baltimore.
If the first part happens (Marshall to Cleveland), I can’t see Mangini and the Browns trading Edwards within the division.
Stay tuned…
